Harlaxton Study Abroad
Harlaxton College, UE’s British campus, is located
in the British midlands. An optional field trip is offered
to all PSA students each summer. During a week long visit
to Harlaxton, students will visit several English organizations,
talk with policy makers and investigate how service to the
public is impacted by the British culture. Scheduled visits
will form the basis for class discussions.
Accommodations for this English study abroad
experience include dormitory style rooms at Harlaxton Manor
from Saturday through Thursday, with hotel accommodations
in London until departure on Sunday. Harlaxton Manor is a
residence hall with dormitory style accommodations cleverly
concealed within the manor house, a 101 room Victorian dwelling.
PSA students use the same rooms traditional students occupy
during the regular academic terms.
The schedule of costs is announced each fall
for both the PSA students and their guests. The schedule of
costs includes room and board while at Harlaxton, hotel in
London, all lectures and classes, one theatre performance
and transportation to and from the airport and to all field
trips. Additional expenses include airfare, personal sightseeing,
personal expenses and meals in London. Group travel arrangements
will be offered, but individuals are welcome to make their
own travel arrangements.
A deposit is required in January to confirm
your enrollment. The remaining costs are due by May 1st.
An informational meeting is provided every November
for both students and guests. The dates and times of informational
meetings are announced to current students in advance.
