The Program

The Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree program is designed specifically for the adult learner. Our students are individuals who have the intellectual capacity to attend college but did not do so at the typical age, who had an interrupted college experience or who simply want to continue their own personal growth and development. To assist the mid-career adult learners who desire self-fulfillment, educational opportunity and a better understanding of the world in which we live, the University of Evansville designed the Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree program.

Central to the development of the Bachelor of Liberal Studies program is the belief that significant learning can and does occur in many ways outside of the formal college classroom experience. Adults who have lived and experienced a productive life are able to earn a baccalaureate degree in a manner that is meaningful and educationally sound.

Many who enter the program hold highly responsible positions within their companies or within the community. Many are directed specifically to this program either by their companies or their personal desire for a strong liberal studies background to augment areas of specific expertise.

This special program is designed to acknowledge the experience of mature adults--their sharpened vision, their balance and their motivation. The Bachelor of Liberal Studies program offers the excitement of learning and the deep pleasure of achievement.
